A Dog Is a Man's Best Friend

A Dog Is a Man's Best Friend

The Age Old Quote

No one has never heard of the saying, "A Dog Is A Man's Best Friend". Do you ever wonder why? Or were the reasons just not justifiable? There's more than one story shared over and over again to prove a dog's loyalty is no joke.

The Pet That Will Never Judge You

There was program on TV years back (when I was about 12 years old) that left a huge imprint in my mind, and I've shared it with everyone that owned a dog
. What I saw on TV that day, completely changed my perception of pet ownership. To put it more accurately, it would be to actually own a dog. The program showed a woman that owned a Pittbull (one of the most loyal breeds).

Because the dog was treated so poorly, Animal Welfare Services came by to have the dog taken away, and upon the woman's command, the Pittbull launched a vicious attack on the Welfare guys. Perhaps some may view this as stupidity, but I think it displays the immense trust and loyalty a dog can have for it's owner. No matter how terrible of a person you may be, they will never leave your side.

The Pet That Seeks to Understand

Aww.

Ever been amazed by the countless tricks a human can teach a dog? Dog's naturally thrive on pleasing their owners or even people. It has been proven by a research facility in Hungary through MRI scans that a part of a dog's brain specifically responds to vocal tones and vibrations. These parts of the brain are also coincidentally located in the same to that of a human brain. Ultimately, they respond better to human emotions.

The Pet That Treasures Your Relationship

Alright, everyone probably knows the story of Hachiko (If you hadn't, where have you been?!). This dog from Japan even has a statue made in his honour. Hachiko waits at Shibuya Station for his owner to come home from work everyday. One day his owner passed and never made it back from work, but Hachiko returned everyday to wait at the same spot of the station for 9 years.

After his story was published by the Japanese local news, commuters started to feed him to keep him alive. This true story of the bond between a dog and its owner is not the first, there are many other stories of a dog's faithfulness and loyalty that can bring us to tears all over again.

Aggression = Fear

Similar to all other pets and animals, the root of aggression in them is always closely linked to fear. From speaking to adopters we've gathered that most of the aggressive dogs they've adopted were due to mistreatment by owners before. These poor dogs require a longer time to rebuild trust, but once the trust is earned, they could be even more loyal and faithful.

I myself have been bitten on my leg by a middle sized stray at the age of 14, although I did not bear a grudge, I must admit to have developed a little bit of fear towards dogs. But I am lucky enough to be exposed to dogs and animals at a young age, and upon meeting Neno, he freed my fears and doubts by being the wonderful, friendly Pomeranian he is.
