Dog Treats With Chicken: Three Homemade Dog Treat Recipes

Dog Treats With Chicken: Three Homemade Dog Treat Recipes

We love cooking for our Dogs, because the joy on their faces when we serve up some homemade goodies is just priceless, and knowing every ingredient that went into making it was safe is an extremely comforting thought. Let’s face it, we don’t even know half of the other ingredients listed on store-bought treats anyway! That is why we opt to cook for our Doggos with every single chance we get.
Have you made a snack or treat for your Dog before?

How Chicken Benefits Your Dog

This week’s round-up of recipes consists of Chicken as one of the main ingredients, essentially a lean meat packed with nutritional values. Chicken meat is a good source of Protein needed for muscle development, promotes energy boost, and it is also low in calories. Omega 6 in Chicken breasts doubles up as a bonus for healthy skin and better bone growth.

How To Safely Feed Chicken To Your Dog

While Chicken meat has nutritional benefits, it is important to note these few pointers before serving them up. Use Chicken breast as it is the leanest, and always remove the skin before cooking. Chicken meat should never be served raw, to avoid the risks of Salmonella.
You may want to feed your Dog(s) boiled Chicken breast strips in moderation, as a treat or high-yield reward on special occasions. Too much of something is never good for our Pets, and remember, treats are not meant to substitute meals. With that said, let’s check out some recipes for delectable Dog treats with Chicken incorporated in them!

1. Chicken and Wild Rice Biscuits

This recipe reminded us of an Asian dish, Chicken-Rice, only without the garlic infused rice. Absolutely Dog-friendly style! Found on Carrie’s Experimental Kitchen, written by Carrie for her adorable Shih Tzus Tebo and Koda.

2. Hypoallergenic Chicken Biscuits

Take a twist to a basic Chicken biscuits for Dogs with this hypoallergenic recipe! While there isn’t any Chicken meat in this, the flavor comes from Chicken broth, which you could prepare your own before-hand if you do not want to use the ones off the shelf. We also opted out on Kosher salt because our Dogs are pretty old, even though it is a healthier version of salt. Found on DogVills written by Jason Meller.

3. Pumpkin and Chicken Treats

Serve up a Halloween treat with this recipe that consists of Chicken, Pumpkin, and a cheesy surprise. Recipe via Doggy Dessert Chef.
