Homemade Catnip Biscuits Recipe
Whether you own a Cat
or not, it comes to no surprise when somebody says “my Cat absolutely went
crazy for Cat-nip!” Up on Pet Shop racks used to be only toys with Cat-nip
stuffed inside, creating a very stimulating toy for our feline friends. Now,
things have gone a little further than just toys, you can find Cat-nip in
treats and goodies.
Tuna And Catnip Cat Treat Croutons
This is a recipe as
found on The Cookie Rookie, written by Becky Hardin. All photos and recipe
detail credits go to her and her Cat, Dill. It calls for Tuna as a main
ingredient, and other ingredients which are very easily obtainable in our local
supermarkets! We have no doubt your Kitties are going to love this treat ☺

Ingredients
5
oz bag or canned (approximately
141 grams) Tuna, drained
1
cup Coconut flour
(for stickier, thicker consistency, you can
use whole Wheat flour or Oat flour. Those flours might work better if you want
to roll these into balls. If making the crouton shape, the Coconut flour works
just fine ☺)
1
tablespoon extra light Olive Oil
1
tablespoon dried Catnip
1
Egg
1-2
tablespoons Water
(add more water if you want the dough a bit
stickier)

Directions
1. Preheat
oven to 350 Degrees F (Approximately 176
Degree Celsius) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
2. Combine drained Tuna, Egg, Coconut flour, Water, Olive oil and
Catnip. Blend in a food processor until mixture is smooth and completely
combined.
The mixture is
different than a normal dough. It’s not very sticky and is a bit powdery.
3. Pinch or roll pieces of the dough into “croutons” and place on
baking sheet.
4. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until they are dried on top and
browned. It’s okay for them to be slightly burnt, you want them crunchy!
5. Allow to cool completely.
These will store in
your fridge for about a week. Since they contain egg and tuna, you shouldn’t
keep them longer than that. Store in an air-tight container. Enjoy!
