Homemade Salmon Cat Treats
We love emphasising on
the joy of homemade pet treats. As we know too well of the busy schedules every
Pet owner has, we still believe that every Pet owner should try making
something for your pets at least once in your lifetime! (It’s sorta like Pringles, once you start, you can’t stop)
The only reason why
making food for your Pets can get addictive is due to the satisfaction at the
end of it. Not only that, YOU know exactly what’s going into those treats! Gone
are the days where you wonder what’s in those store-bought treats, eating what
Pawrents prepared is the safe way to go ☺
3 Ingredient Salmon Cat Treats
This
weekend’s recipe is a little something special for our feline friends, we love
how this recipe only requires 3 ingredients and approximately 40 minutes to get
done! This recipe is from TheCookieRookie, highly raved about by many Cat lovers!
Ingredients
10
oz (Approximately 284 grams)
Canned Salmon (undrained)
1
Egg
(beaten)
2
cups whole wheat flour
Directions
1. Heat oven
to 350°(Approximately 177 Degree Celsius).
Pulse 10 oz canned salmon (undrained) in a food processor and chop as finely as
possible.
2. In a
stand mixer, combine salmon, 1 egg (beaten) and 2 cups whole wheat flour until
dough forms. If dough is too dry, add up to 1/3 cup water. If dough is too wet
or sticky, add a bit more flour. Dough should be tacky but not sticky.
3. Roll out
dough on a floured surface until about 1/4 inch (About 0.5cm) thick. Use a 3/4-inch (About 2 cm)cookie cutter in the shape of your choice to create your
treats.
4. Place
treats on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 350° for about 20 minutes.
When they're slightly browned and crunchy, they're done.
5. Allow to
cool before serving.
6. Store in
an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
This
recipe yields about 100 to 120 pieces of these 2cm treats, so it’s perfect for
people with more than 1 Cat at home, plus storage is up to 2 weeks! Now
remember not to overfeed your kitties, treats should never be a substitute for
regular meals. Ready to try out more recipes? Try some other Cat Treat Recipes, a Cheesy one, or an Organic one perhaps?
