First Try Homemade Rabbit Treat
Homemade treats are not just for Cats and Dogs, avid Rabbit owners have taken it onto their own hands to be able to share the same joy of making something for their precious Bunnies. Here’s a recipe we found on Food.com.
Banana Carrot Oat Treat
The ingredients are completely Rabbit safe, and sure sounds yummy!

Ingredients
1 small Carrot (pureed or
minced VERY fine)
1⁄2 Banana (mashed until
very creamy)
1 tablespoon Honey
1⁄4 cup Rabbit pellets, ground
finely
1⁄4 cup Oats, ground
finely

Directions
1. Mix pureed carrot,
mashed banana and honey in a medium bowl.
2. Add ground pellets
and ground oats. Mix until blended.
3. Knead for 1-2
minutes. It'll probably be pretty sticky.
4. Roll dough out to
about 1/8” thickness.
5. Score flattened
dough with large knife in 1-inch cross sections like tiles. You’re not
separating the tiles, just scoring them for easy breaking apart later.
6. Bake at 325F
(approximately 164 Degree Celsius) for about 30-40 minutes, checking to make
sure they don’t over-brown.
7. Turn off the oven,
leaving the cookie slab in the oven for another hour until the treats dry to
crispness.
8. Remove from oven
and cool completely on cooling rack.
Break the tiles apart
- easy! – and store in a zip lock bag in the fridge.
